Invitation

In commemoration of the Centennial of Kim Dae-jung’s Birth, the Jeollanam-do province and the Kim Dae-jung Peace Center will host the “Centennial of Kim Dae-jung’s Birth, Peace Festival” under the theme, "A March to Peace and Life with Kim Dae-jung," featuring a series of academic and cultural events.

We are currently living in an urgent situation where the climate crisis, the new cold war crisis stemming from military security, economic, and advanced technology competition between the United States and China, and the crisis of cutting-edge technologies like AI dominating humanity are no longer distant or theoretical issues, but matters that have an absolute impact on our daily lives.

President Kim Dae-jung dedicated his life to the cause of peace on the Korean Peninsula and globally through his "Sunshine Policy" of reconciliation and cooperation. He also advocated for "Cosmo-democracy," emphasizing that the right to survival should be guaranteed for all living beings in nature. Additionally, he expressed concern that if science and technology are not shared peacefully, it could exacerbate poverty and inequality, leading humanity to become slaves to these very technologies.

We cordially invite you to the Centennial of Kim Dae-jung’s Birth, Peace Festival, where we will march together to peace and life with President Kim Dae-jung to overcome the complex crises we face today.

Sincerely
